Front cover names

Competitors from France, Germany, Spain and Portugal have made the journey to Portugal for the postponed 2020 Foil European Championships.
Organising the event would not be possible without the tremendous dedication of the local organisers at Clube Naval da Praia da Vitória and their partners. To them a great thank you.

It is going to be a battle of front cover names with both Nicolas Goyard the Formula Foil World Champion and Sebastian Koerdel the iQFOiL International Games Champion onsite fighting for the glory and their share of the 35 000 Euro prize money.

Today was a slow start with the wind flying all over the place at moments and the Race Committee making the wise choice not to try to run races in such challenging conditions. It is easy to understand why when you see the wind statistics, as the wind changed direction by 100 degrees within minutes and ranged from 6 to 25 kts. There was no stress however with the next days looking good on the forecast.

We have a maximum of 25 races scheduled for the five days, but with the maximum of 6 per day we may now reach 24. Still more than enough to find out who is the best of the pack and enjoy the beautiful scenery whilst at it.

Stay tuned for more as the first start for tomorrow is scheduled for 12:00.
